Pastor James Mayfield, M.A. a former US Marine and decorated veteran, recently joined Life Management as the Associate Director. He is a licensed minister who holds several earned degrees in communications, theology and pastoral care and counseling.

Jim has worked and served the South Florida community in various capacities, including Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Christian Soldier Ministries, The Salvation Army and the L.A. Lee YMCA in Ft. Lauderdale. In addition, James is an adjunct professor at Barry University and a highly qualified facilitator with Life Management.

With More than 20 years of ministry experience in the counseling and consulting profession, Jim is available to meet your needs in the areas of family crisis intervention, couples and marriage, individual concerns and men’s issues. Plus, Jim has a dynamic way of sharing God’s truth through preaching and teaching in the local church. Lyla Edwards, M.S. is an experienced Marriage and Family Counselor who holds certifications with Prepare/Enrich and Couples Communication. These areas of concentration have developed her ability to provide quality care in premarital and enrichment counseling for couples. In addition, she has a unique ability to help individuals grasp the skills to speak and listen with better clarity and less conflict.

Lyla has done extensive work in facilitating groups and is a specialist with assertiveness training and the well known program: "Shelter From The Storm," a closed group for survivors of childhood sexual trauma. Sharing how to overcome social and emotional problems from a Biblical perspective is Lyla's passion, especially for women who are hurting.
